Eric Bledsoe is a Buck.

"Fear The Deer" just became a lot more fearsome.

When Eric Bledsoe announced his desire to leave the Suns, it sent the NBA world into a frenzy. A guard with his versatile skillset could push the right team over the hump, and turn them into serious playoff contenders. That team is the Milwaukee Bucks.

Even though Bledsoe is only 6'0" without shoes, he's as physically gifted as anybody at his size. His almost 6'8" wingspan fits in well with the length of his new teammates. And he's built like a fucking running back.

His dimensions, combined with his great athleticism and a 40 inch vertical, give him the chance to be an impact defender alongside guys like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton. He showed flashes of that defense in Phoenix, soaring around the court at times, and taking on players significantly taller than him.

That same explosiveness and length, plus his skill, will add a different facet to Milwaukee's offense and help take a load off of Giannis' very, very long shoulders. His quickness and bounce will suit him perfectly in transition, where the Bucks' length will give him many open-court opportunities. And he shows good control of his pace as a ball handler, giving him endless pick & roll opportunities with dynamic forwards like Giannis or Jabari Parker.

Giannis being a monster in the restricted area will give guys like Bledsoe plenty of wide-open looks from 3. He's shown to be a serviceable 3 point shooter in past seasons (34% on 4 attempts per game in Phoenix) with a good shooting form. And when Giannis is off the court, Bledsoe can use his improved pull-up shooting to create points off the dribble.

With Eric Bledsoe's addition to the Milwaukee Bucks, the 27-year-old brings a threat at point guard that teams didn't have to worry about before. Malcolm Brogdon is a solid young player, but he lacks the athleticism that makes a point guard truly dynamic. Athleticism that Bledsoe possesses. Brogdon can easily slide to an off-ball role while Eric takes control of point guard duties.

Bledsoe joins an Eastern Conference that is full of talented point guards. He's not in the conference's 1st tier (Wall/Kyrie), but he's comfortably in the second tier next to guys like Dennis Schroder, that glorified Raymond Felton who plays in Canada, and Kemba Walker. Besides coaching (that's a story for another day), there's no reason he can't be able to match up with any other point guard in the East.

He is a very talented player, but like all players, he has his flaws. Alhough he has the tools to be a problem on defense, he has mental lapses which sometimes result in complete defensive breakdowns. While these breakdowns are hilarious to watch as an outsider, these kinds of failures in a game could mean the difference between 4th seed team and 7th seed team. And especially deadly in the playoffs.

With the addition of Bledsoe, the Bucks add a few wins to their record. Wins that may jump them ahead a few playoff spots. Before the trade I saw the Bucks finishing around 5th or 6th seed, but I don't know if the addition is enough for the to leapfrog over teams like Washington or Toronto

I'm being hopeful with my expectations for Eric Bledsoe, but whatever he it's safe to say that plays basketball better than he hides his weed.
